mp3 support

Hi Linux Geeks,

I tried some linux distros like Mandriva,Suse, dream Linux,Redhat,....
Some have mp3 support, but some doesnt. Some distros come with mplayer so that we can play any movie file.
For example, with mandriva we can have anything like windows. but SUSE doesnt support many movie files.....

Plz explain why?

mainly legal issues are what are holding distros back from including MP3 and DVD official support.

Most of the big distros that are based in the US don't ship with certain multimedia capabilities for legal reasons. Usually you can just enable multimedia support using official or third party software repositories. In the case of openSUSE, take a look here for a guide on enabling support for mp3 and other multimedia file types.
