MP3 support for Totem?
http://rpm.livna.org has the docs that you might be looking for. I have never really bothered to play MP3 in Totem. (XMMS is just right) For Totem, i think you need to download some Plugins, which are available at rpm.livna.org. >also are there any media players that can access media on an SMB share without have to copy it onto the computer? Have you tried accessing the Mount point for your SMB share directly through your Media Player? Like using the File--Open-- <your filename> ?? |
oh well..... anyway it appears that mplayer is just what I want... but when I tried to install it it said that soenm library file was missing.. is tehre some all inclousive package or something, or at least a set of instructions on how to instll it on fedora core 3.... providing you have setup your repos
su <password> yum install mplayer there is also gmplayer etc that are GUIs yum search <name> as for accessing smb share like above, point the player to your mount point, personally i never managed to get more than 1 sound at a time on FC so i use cplay on my file server (based on MPG321) it's a commandline audio player, so i connect with SSH, run cplay and off i go to do other stuff like skype etc. |
