MozPlugger and Embedded PDF Documents

I have some web pages with PDF documents embedded using iFrames and have been trying to display them in Firefox 11.0 under Ubuntu 11.10. Having searched various forums, I discovered that I needed to install MozPlugger. Have done so, but with rather curious results. The same page sometimes displays with the PDF document properly embedded in the HTML page but at other times the document viewer is opened as a popup window. As far as I can tell the variation in bevaiour is random. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Mozplugger isn't the easiest thing to configure. Have you tried using Mozilla's new pdf-viewer addon for Firefox? It is a separate addon for Firefox now, but eventually will be integrated into Firefox itself. See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pdfjs/

Many thanks for the reply. The PDF Viewer plugin works a treat! I actually prefer it to the Adobe plugin that comes with Firefox in Windows - my next challenge is to find out how to make PDF Viewer the default viewer in Windows, but that's not a job for this particular forum!!
