I can't guarantee that anyone will be able to solve your problem, but if anyone can, you need to be more specific. What errors are you encountering? When do the errors appear? What are your exact settings, apart from the pop.gmail.com?

According to GMail's tutorial on Thunderbird, which I suggest you take a look at, as it has screenshots, your username should be your full email address, not just the stuff before the @ sign.

You should say no to this, actually. Take a look at this screenshot for the GMail preferences you should have.
