I installed fedora release 10 on my desktop using my friends DVD made out by the iso files for fedora 10 downloaded from net.
initially firefox was working just fine but after my first update process using the system updater application my firefox isn't working any more although the internet connection
is established and the system updater still updates using the same internet connection.
my problem is that the browser window does pop up but it always says connecting to my specified website and doesn't go beyond that.
as i said in my previous post when i just installed fedora 10 the firefox browser was working just fine. but now it doesn't show up any site at all.
there's one more problem i can't find a reason for it though....
whenever i update my system there forms a new copy of fedora 10 on my startup screen from where i select ths OS to work on as i hv windows installed as well...
this new copy of fedora 10 has the same version of OS but a new different varsion of kernel as it spcifies within brackets
Distribution: Mandriva 2009 X86_64 suse 11.3 X86_64 Centos X86_64 Debian X86_64 Linux MInt 86_64 OS X
It is not a new version of Fedora .but only a new version of the kernel.
Fedora keeps standard 3 kernels.
But you can change it if you wish see yum.conf Install_only=3
Removing firefox you can do it with the package manager or from the command line as su
first yum remove firefox
Second to install yum install firefox
If you like to have yum in the option list than run the command yum install yumex
