mozilla + bookmark copying
Hi,
i need to copy the book marks in my mozilla on a machine into another machine, how can i do that , is there a directory where it is stored so that i can copy it over. Thanks in advance, |
The bookmarks are save in a file bookmarks.html under
~/.mozilla/default/<some random characters>/bookmarks.html |
Or if you can't be bothered to go hunting for the bookmarks.html file:
- Open Mozilla - Select Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks - In the Bookmarks window, select Tools > Export - Specify a filename and location for your Bookmarks file - Move your Bookmarks file to any location on the new machine - Open Mozilla on the new machine, select Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks, select File > Import and browse to the location where you saved the bookmarks file. Job done. |
If you're using Firefox there's an extension called Foxmarks to synchronize bookmarks between computers. Each computer you synchronize them with has to be running Firefox and the extension.
