moving partitions and ghost

Hello,

I am going to install RH9, so I will try to configure sevceral partitions. I have read on topics that i could install new partitions on new Hard drives. But as I would like to install windows partitions, is it possible to:

1) move any linux partition on a hard drive? Will linux boot after? Is there anything to do with partitions table ?

2) use a tool that would allow me to ghost a linux partition, similar to the Norton Ghost utility for windows ?

Thank you, X.

Just with related topics, I just went at Partimage' web site, what seems to be a good answer to my second question.
Thanks to the good "organiztaion" of this site.

Still need some help for my question "1)"!

Yes you can move any linux partition but you will need to change the bootloader and /etc/fstab file to reflect the new partition locations as required.

Redhat uses partition labels and it will complain if it sees multiple labels with the same name.

Thanks for your reply, MichaelK

That will help me for my forthcoming install.

Cheers, Xround.
