moving on with the generic kernel

Hi

I now have started with the generic kernel.

How do i move on ? When i boot there are some maps and files there. lokskey and loksdev and some other files.

Should i copy files over to /boot/initrd-tree/ and try to build on ?

Could somebody give me a exampel on how to move on !
