Moving email from Suse 10.0 KDE to Ubuntu 8.0.4 w/ Evolution
 

Is there an easy way to import mail from 10.0 with KDE to Ubuntu 8.0.4 with Evolution email. I need to move my spouse's old emails and attachments over to another media. I have an external drive or a memory stick, but it seems that the two email programs are different and therefore importing data is not easy. I'm a newb, and my experience in Terminal can be measured in seconds, but I'll do whatever it takes.

Not sure if you are using kmail when switching to ubuntu but here is a link a found with someone doing it.

I tried copying the mail files after converting them to .mbox format, and it worked as long as the file was small. My wife's email file is 1 gb long, and the mail importer crashes when I try and copy it to the file in thunderbird. Similar results when it is copied and pasted.

Any ideas? The imap server has been mentioned, but I don't know how to do it. 2 weeks ago, I never heard of ubuntu....so you never know.
