Hi, welcome to LQ!

As long as your system was properly installed and configured Firefox should work smooth. If it hangs try to quit firefox and then start again. If it doesn't solve, try to change your locale or text encoding; otherwise, it is your network connection that is getting slow.

Again, that is often simple. Unplug... and plug again the mouse.

Sorry for the joke, but my first comment was "It's THINKING!"

But really, this may be a case. I have seen Firefox lock up after initial load, the mouse isn't involved, I have just seen Firefox sort of stop for as long as 30 seconds to nearly a full minute, and then operate fine afterwards. I actually don't know the cause, however I have seen it in Linux Mint DE release 17.3.

What distribution and version are you running?

Also take note that you really should ask a clearer question as has been suggested by others.
