mouse not working fedora first time useing linux


i have just installed fedora core on my computor everything seemed to be going fine until i booted for the first time and discovered my mouse was not working. my applogies if this has been asked before but i could really use some help. i am migrating from windows and without the mouse i am lost please help i will provide any information needed. i have tried to resolve this problem for a week on my own and have had no sucess i had to disable kudzu to keep from getting a kernel panic while booting could this be creating the problem

what type of mouse are you using? IS it serial, ps2 or usb?

I believe that Fedora has some problem with using USB mouse and keyboard.

if it's a usb mouse...you got problems. geta regular ol' ps/2 mouse.....and when it asks wwhat mouse type go to the generic mouse. wheel option...........

No No. I don't believe that this is the only way out. You can get your USB mice to work under Fedora BUt it's not easy. So, tell us what type your mouse is.

my apologies for the slow response I'm using a usb logitech wheel mouse. thanks i really appreciate your assistance

check your xf86config file. See if that gives you anything. also check /var/log for any error messages related to your mouse.

Did fedora install your mouse correctly during installation? Did it realize that it was a USB mouse at all?
