Mouse does not init with X

I have tried every mouse driver included with X. None them work. I have tried both a PS/2 style mouse (using ps/2, auto, and MS), and a serial mouse using (bus, and dev/tty00). This may not be enough info but since I am new I do not know what info to provide for help.

Thanks
