Mouse CPU System Monitor
Hi
I am using Ubuntu 10.04, having a lot of problems, have loaded the operating system three times now. The mouse icon keeps freezing, the CPU on system monitor is showing 100% most of the time that is when the mouse sticks. The hardware is fine, it only sticks when CPU shows 100%. Processes on system monitor is showing all is sleeping. There is no programs activated your server or desktop sharing. Normally I have had up to five activities going on at the same time even video editing without the machine freezing or mouse delaying positioning on screen. Thanks EAI |
Open a terminal and run top. When the machine freezes, you will see what is using all the cpu.

100% cpu
Hi
All other versions of Ubuntu I have used are hardly a drain on the cpu even with programs open, its the spiking on the cpu that slows down the operating system. Even video editing uses 100% of cpu speed but dose not impair the pc, but now it dose for no reason even when there is no programs opened. This is what terminal produced. 100% cpu pgy0
Hi
Thanks for that command for terminal. I ran Top and discovered it is a command called "phy0" that comes up for no reason, it appears for about a second or so then dissapears just to return, enough to mess up fuctions on the pc. Thanks EAI Quote:
