Mouse and keyvoard stops working

I recently installed fedora 8 and the nouse and keyboard stops working after installation when it comes to the screen when it asks for username
i have a standard ps2 keyboard and mouse
How can i fix it ?
plz help

I believe that the easiest method of fixing this problem would be to install a newer version of FC. They're up to version 11 now. Since you have just installed Linux you probably don't have a lot of time invested in the current running system. Start over with a newer and probably better version.

Failing that you could try messing around with boot parameters such as acpi=off and noapic. Combine that with messing around with your motherboard's BIOS settings for ACPI and APIC. Lots of fun for everyone there.
