Try installing smb4k.

Do an apt-get install smb4k

Then run the program smb4k. It's a nice frontend. Might work!

I've restarted since installing smbfs and still no good. I mean I don't understand how I can view my share using smbclient, and yet I can't mount it.

OK - try this exactly:

Code:
1.) su
2.) <enter root password>
3.) mkdir /mnt/smb
4.) mount //192.168.0.1/SharedFolderName /mnt/smb -t smbfs
5.) cd /mnt/smb
6.) ls
Hope it works.

What does your /etc/samba/smb.conf say about signing? Have you disabled it?

Make sure you have the following (make sure it's yes):
'client signing = yes'

If this doesn't work, try reinstalling all the smb modules.
vxc
