Mounting a AIX Volume on a V7000 to a Linux Host to GTAR the files

Hi Everyone,

Problem;

We need to flashcopy an AIX volume on the V7000 to another FC_AIX Volume on the V7000.
We then want to mount that FC_AIX Volume to a Linux Host for the purpose of Zipping the files, Doing the tape Backup of the zipped files and then restoring to the DR Centre.

Question;

Is it possible to mount the FC_AIX Volume in Linux to a Linux Host?

Any help or direction would be appreciated...

I think you would have to use NFS for the mount... as the AIX volume is in a proprietary format (unless it happens to be a basic volume in jfs... but usually it is on top of an IBM logical volume which is not supported).
