mount same device at multiple locations

Hello!
I have a backup drive, hdd5, which gets mounted regulary by the cron-daemon.
I have now a program that need much space in a temporary directory.
Do I get problems, if I just mount the hd5 device to the tmp directory to ensure that it will have enough space for his operations, and the cron daemon later is also triying to mount this device soemwhere else to?

never tried it before, but u might get a device already mounted. if u do, then just create links from ur temp dirs to the mount point.

Depends on how old your kernel is.
unless your kernel is very old (2.2 or possibly 2.0 series) you can mount a device asmany times as you like, in as many different places as you like.
