mount problem installing UT2004

I get the following when installing the first CD of UT2004:

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Unreal Tournament 2004 for GNU/Linux 3186......................................................................
mount: /dev/cdrecorder already mounted or /media/cdrecorder busy
mount: according to mtab, /dev/sr0 is already mounted on /media/cdrecorder
mount: No medium found
Mounted device /dev/dvd
mount: /dev/cdrecorder already mounted or /media/cdrecorder busy

mount: No medium found
mount: /dev/dvd already mounted or /media/dvd busy
mount: according to mtab, /dev/sr0 is already mounted on /media/dvd
Unmounting device /dev/dvd

I know this has to be a mounting problem but since my drives are mounted I don't know what the issue is. I have a DVD Combo drive auto mounted by SuSE at /media/cdrecorder and a CDROM automounted by SuSE at /media/cdrom

After the first CD installs and the prog is ready for disk 2 I cannot open the drive and when I try to unmount it through the GUI it tells me the drive is busy, same with eject.

Some of the articles I've found tell me to mount and unmount through the CLI but I already have the drives mounted so i'm still at a loss.

Thanks ahead of time
bb

first off copy the installer to your HDD and run it from there as a regular user. Then when it asks for disk two open up a terminal and su in as root then manually umount the disk and you should be able to open the drive. Insert the next disk and in the CLI mount the disk then click on "OK" and the installer should continue. repeat the process with the other disks then when it's finished installing reboot just to make sure your automounter gets reset. then go online and download the latest update for UT2004 install and let the fun begin

You do not need to make an image of the installation disc if you setup a global variable. I do not remember the variable to tell the installer where the mounted disc will be. Check the documentation on the CD or DVD. To make a variable global type
export variable_name="/mnt/cdrom"

Then run the installation. I did the above and I had no problems though I was using the DVD version.

you guys are thinking to much
the only trick is you can't be in the dir you run the installer from
I mean if you go to /dev/cdrom your in that dir and it can't unmount the volume with you in it
go to your home dir and run the full path to the installer from there
then the cd should eject when the button is pushed
