Mount floppy Mandrake 10.0

My experience with linux is limited to the last 24 hours, so sorry if this is an obvious question. I've read the documentation, but it doesn't jive with what I'm seeing. I tried searching these boards, but none of the advice for similar problems worked.

I just installed mandrake yesterday. Today I tried inserting a floppy disk, but it doesn't recognize it. I tried to mount it by typing mount /mnt/floppy
I also tried mount /dev/fd0. The manual for nautilis said to just right click and choose disks > floppy, but there is no disks in the right click menu.

What I am doing wrong?

When you try mount /dev/fd0 and mount /mnt/floppy and you can't mount, what errors do you receive?

Did you try "mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy"?
Is there an icon in your desktop, for the floppy disk? Can you access the disk just by clicking it?

There is no icon at all.
When I type either mount /dev/fd0 or mount /mnt/floppy no errors are displayed. The run command box dissappears, and nothing happens.

I will try "mount /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy" now.

/me kicks himself

OK, last time I tried to mount, there was no icon. Now there is... Not sure what changed, maybe I didn't refresh the desktop.

Thanks for the help.

Mandrake uses supermount so you do not have to mount, unmount removable media. Try inserting the floppy and then use your file browser to navigate to /mnt/floppy. Before ejecting the floppy be sure you close any application or console window that accessing the drive.
