Mount error (13). Permission denied

I'm a newbie on Linux.
I need some help.
I've been logged on root# I've been put the command:
mount -t cifs -o credentiasl=/etc/securedir/.creds //serverwindows/xxxyyy /mnt/mountpoint
than I received these error:
mount error(13). permission denied.
Can someone help me?

So, you are root when you issue that command? As in you either logged in as root or issued the 'su' command before?

Can you post the entire terminal input/output including the bash prompt before your mount command.

I found the cause of error.
In the file .creds I have two lines:
user=xxxbbb
password=mxxxzyyd

at the line user=xxxbb has an empty space that causes this error .

Thanks a lot.
