mount /dev/sda1 doesn't work
Hi.
I've just changed from Fedora Core 2 to Slackware 10.1 which my friend installed. I used mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb to mount usb drives to my /mnt/usb directory in Fedora but everytime I try and do the dame in Slackware I keep getting the messege: mount: /dev/sda1 is not a valid block device I have also used mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb but it gives the same result Thanks a lot. Also, does anyone know any good battery monitoring programs for fluxbox, thanks. |

hey just run
fdisk -l to see what devices u have and then mount them regards |
/dev/sda1 is not a valid block device... i got this error once becuz i did not plug my usb tightly. So check whether u have plugged it right if u did and it doesnt detect , then why dont you switch to knoppix... u can use usb or any plug and play device easily. The most usre frendly linux i have ever seen is knoppix.
I tried rh9/fedora and other distros. But they are not good for newbies. |
As for monitoring battery status, I have messed about with Torsmo on my ancient laptop. It is a bit tricky to set up, though. But it fits in very well with Flux.
