more winmodems

just installed linux mandrake 8. 0 I have a win modem from AOpen (FM56-PM). I am not too sure what the chip set is, and I have not had much luck finding compatiblity. I am also having a problem where if I change the display setting out side of 800x600 my windows come back funkie. I text is overlaid and windows are transparent. On top of all of that I can't get my sound card to work...but I will work on that later.
If any one knows anything at all it would rock!!!

I so far love the s@#$ out ML. I just need to get this working to make a full conversion to linux.
