Monitoring System Usage

Hi,
I need to know whether there is some program available that can give me details on CPU usage and Network Card usage (Packets In and Out).

The reason for my question is, I have installed a FireWall with Squid which was working fine.
Suddenly the connection is extremely slow, so I am trying to determent why.
My Squid log files doesn't show excessive use of the Internet.

When installing Squid I have made sure nobody else from outside my network can use it.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

iptraf is an ncurses-based IP LAN monitor that generates various net-work statistics including TCP info, UDP counts, ICMP and OSPF information, Ethernet load info, node stats, IP checksum errors, and others. Find it at http://freshmeat.net/projects/iptraf/ Also you can ntop which is a network traffic probe that shows the network usage, similar to what the popular top Unix command does. ntop is based on libpcap. See http://www.ntop.org/ntop.html HTH
