how do i monitor the above-mentioned services in my localhost and windows server? currently i'm using ubuntu 9.10. i know there are plugins, but how exactly should i use it? currently for my localhost, i had 'connection refused' for POP3 and IMAP, (Return code of 126 is out of bounds - plugin may be missing) for mysql and (Return code of 127 is out of bounds - plugin may be missing) for SNMP
for nagios. i'm using nagios to monitor the services.
The message for pop3 and imap mean that your nagios host cannot get a
network connection to the other host. Make sure that the services are
running, configured properly and not being blocked by a firewall.
For mysql and snmp it sounds like you're missing the required plugins.

for pop3 and imap, how to make sure the services for these 2 are running on other windows servers? for ftp, i do know i have to check the check-box for ftp services in control panel. but i didn't see any pop3, imap in control panel. :X
