Question Monitor and Display system setting module


I am running Fiesty,my x window died so i reload my backup ..

Great except now when i try to system - monitor - setting wont load,i get

"The module monitor and display could not be loaded
possible reason

(1) an erro occure during you last kde upgrade.

(2) leaving an orphaned control module.

(3) you have old third party module .


help

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude upgrade

In what way?
It updated everything OK?

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

(you may have to try several packages... some folk found kde-guidance was the one... for kubuntu of course.) http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2880210

Naturally you have tried manually editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf to get what you need?
