Question Monitor


Ver new to Linux and I need to figure out what monitor i have. I'm on a Gateway Solo 1450 Laptop and i've been having troubles installing and i found out that my monitor. If anyone can help, Please do.

what distro are you using ?

probably you can select "Laptop 1024x768", "LCD 1024x768", "VESA 1024x768" or somehing like that

I'm using Red Hat 8 and i don't know what monitor it is.

Look for Generic LCD 800X600
that's what worked on my laptop (a Gateway solo 2500).

If not, Generic 800X600 *should* also work until you can google around and find the exact settings.

(a hint: Downloading your specification docs from Gateway is a HUGE help in knowing exactly what you have in your laptop)
