modules.conf help?

I went to a website in search of helping me with my soundcard and I came across this in a table:

Ensoniq SoundScape
Module Name (imaginary filler space) conf.modules
sscape.o (imaginary_ _filler_space) io=io_port irq=IRQ dma=dma mss=val mpu_dma=dma mpu_irq=IRQ spea=[ 0/1]

Now, what do I edit and how do I edit it in my modules.conf file? I mean, my modules.conf file is empty with the exception of a few lines I added by copying another site about ALSA....

What's your distro? I don't know what tools you have so I can help you further than this:

First, here is how to find info about your pci cards.Open an x terminal and command:

cat /proc/pci | less

The specific info the article is talking about will be returned in your pci list.

I have Slack8.1, and I have ISAPNP Tools, and I think that might be it....

pnpdump >/isapnp.conf

That should give the info I think.

A Google Linux search found this hit

Thanks FancyPiper, but I've already used both of those... Unfortunately, I'm very green for Linux and have bad luck, I guess. I've been trying to find drivers for my soundcard, but for some odd reason, http://www.ensoniq.com is down, and I can't find any mirrors for the drivers for my Soundscape VIVO PNP....
