Modprobe: Can't locate module mousedev (gentoo)

Ok, just reinstalled gentoo, and this time my net connection is working! But... my mouse isn't working.

I get this error:

modprobe: modprobe: can't locate module mousedev

This one I have no idea how to fix, but I'm sure there is an easy solution. If it matters, it's a Logitech MouseMan Optical USB.

Thanks!

Yep I've got many of these error messages in the past. Try this to make it hopefuly working properly:

/sbin/depmod -a it should give you no error message...
If it give you a error message like "Unresolved Symbols" then your dependensies / modules are not installed properly. You should make sure that your mouse is tagged properly in de kernel configuration (M) module.

Then repeat the steps to build the kernel again and al it's modules. If you do this manually (building a kernel) type

1. make dep
2. make clean
3. make bzImage
4. make modules
5. make modules_install

Try it one by one, in my experience in the past i've found out that outting all commands on the same line, isn't working allways correctly ..

Hope this helps,
