modprobe acpi_memhotplug issue on Ubuntu 8.04.4???
 
I am in verse to perform hotadd CPU process with Ubuntu 8.04.4 on top of ESX.I was going through http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-10493 where they say that /proc/cpuinfo shows if your CPU is compatible for performing hotadd CPU. But Couldnt find which parameter is it concenrned.

Also, Ubuntu doesnt successfully run the above command.
Is that particular module needed for Ubuntu to perform hotplug?

Anyone who can help me ascertaining the correct parameter?

The instructions are quite clear. It shows one CPU allocated at the start, and 4 after the script is run.

The instructions are also clear that you have to download that script, and copy it to the Linux system, before you can run it. You can download it via the links on that page, or from the VMware site.
