Do you know what kind of modem you have?
Is it an internal PCI modem? Is it an external USB modem? Is it an external Serial modem? Is it a DSL modem? There are a multitude of ways to get a modem to work in Linux, knowing something about it is a starting place. |
well its ADSL 2+ modem from UTSTARCOM

Good, then just plug it in and it should work. Go to the network settings and make sure it's using DHCP if you have problems.

Two commands to try to diagnose it:
Code:
ifconfig |
