modem problem

I have RED HAT 9 (kernel 2.4.20-8), i want to ask that

I have a Intel 537 data fax V.90 modem (Internal 56K PCI modem) , I want to ask that will it work with linux if yes then please tell me from where can I get the driver .
please help

whilw installing the modem , when i wrote the command "make install".
an error occured, let me give a few lines before the error too.

starting modules and utilities
depmod:***unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/drivers/char/intel537.0
error loading intel 537
rmmod: module intel 537 is not loaded


CAN ANYONE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME
