modem help


I have just loaded linux and trying to get my broadband modem to work. It is a utstarcom um150. Used by version and alltel. When I type sudo lsusb it shows up as a curitel communications inc. Can some one tell me what I need to do to get this thing up and going? It plugs in to a usb port. also

You can't connect it by ethernet?

no. here is alink to show what kinda of modem it is. I will try to answer any question i can sorry if seem stupid just loaded it tonight. Also it is Ubuntu desktop ver. if that helps as well.

Oh, ok. It's not a modem, but a wireless adapter. I'm not sure if that device is even supported by the kernel. I'm pretty sure that they are using some sort of proprietary protection for their network. I would imagine that that is what the drivers are for.
