I am running a dual system, win ME and mandrake 8.2. I have a conexant soft 56k modem that works fine with winME but not with mandrake. I have downloaded the correct drivers for mandrake but it still wont work. With winME the modem is com3 but manrake doesnt give me that option. What can i do? Please help im running out of ideas. thanx

Have you tried /dev/ttyS2? That's what com3 is called in Linux. The names and numberings go like this:

/dev/ttyS0 == com1
/dev/ttyS1 == com2
/dev/ttyS2 == com3

and so on.
