/mnt/win_c locked up

When I install MDK 9.2 on my new machince I created a large fat32 partition as I am not sure if the migration will be smooth sailing so that if it gets bumpy I'll install Win on that partition.

It is hda1 and is about 32GB. As time goes by I found that I do not need to use Win so I started to keep my files in there, mainly mp3. Lately I cannot write to that partition neither as user nor su although upon checking the directory I can see that the permission is drxwrxwrxw. I can access (ie read and execute) from within konqueror and terminal but everytime I want to write or delete something I get a message saying that I do not have permission to do so.

[xxx@localhost mnt]ls -l

shows that win_c is drxwrxwrxw

[xxx@localhost win_c]ls -l

shows that mp3 is also drxwrxwrxw

Help please.

I need a bit more detail..

How did you mount the partition? What's your entry in /etc/fstab ?

Extract from /etc/fstab:

/dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c vfat codepage=850,umask=0,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
