when i type "mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/" i get: "mount: no such file or directory"
1.- The error message is clear, that directory doesn't exist.
2.- You usually don't mount things on /mnt, you mount thing in /mnt/whatever
mkdir -p /mnt/hda1
mount -t ext3 /dev/hda1 /mnt/hda1
If the fs type is not ext3, change it.
