The only magic words I can come up with is:

Back up data and reinstall, or email the KDE team.

Thanks for the advise but I was now thinking of logging on into GNOME and uninstall KDE and then install KDE again. It might just work but then it's just a thought.

Worth trying, pardon my rash advice, I'm Canadian, we're no different than Americans, always looking for a quick fix, only takes an hour to reinstall, :p . Does SUSE use an extended rpm package manager? like Mandriva has URPM and Fedora YUM, would be best to use that sort of feature to take care of dependencies.
There may also be a KDE bug in the works which is why I mention talking to KDE team.

Well, I am South African, deep in Jozi (Johannesburg) and we take anything as it comes.

I am not going to speculate about a bug but what I know is that the left panel (They call it INDEX by the KDE team) was there all along until I decided to experiment and Walaah it was gone and I am just left with the main panel, that's telling me to click on the left side index to customise my desktop.

We have YasT in SuSe, which appears both in GNOME and KDE but KDE has its own Control Center. Well, I think this is the case as I am still new in this game.
