missing Icons after installation

I have just installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my Toshiba laptop. I already have Zorin 5 installed and set up a dual boot with Ubuntu 11.10. Zorin works fine, but in Ubuntu some of the icons on the left are missing. I can go to the blank spot and hover and the name will pop up. If I click in the blank spot the app opens normally.I can't find anywhere to install the missing icons. Any ideas??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try change the icon theme or install new icon themes, you can do that through synaptic package manager, just type icon theme in the filter.
Once you have the new themes installed do right click in the desktop and then "Change Background" there you will find where to change the icon theme.

Missing Icons

Thanks for your help ukiuki. While waiting for a reply I started tinkering.
I know, as a newbe, I shouldn't do that. I went to Dash Home, typed in tweaks,
Ubuntu tweaks came up. I then went to theme and then to Icon theme. I then played with some of the choices.
Default and Gnome shows blank spots, I ended up using ubuntu-mono-dark. Now all the icons
work like they should. Is it too late to send in a bug report? How do I show the problem solved?

You still can send the bug report put as much info as you can, System version, Desktop version, kernel version, etc, etc, and give a well description about the problem.
