# 15, @abenmariem.

Mobiwan : Which patch did you add to ns-2.35 ? ?

Please read
* http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/...Ask_a_Question
* http://linuxsilo.net/docs/smart-questions_en.html
I.e. by every question you ask, please tell what you did.
And also inform about the OS name / version / architecture, like Ubuntu 12.04 - i686.

mobiwan prolem

I am on ubuntu 13.10 32 bit and i am using ns2.35.
I downloaded mobiwan and i followed the installation file readmeInstall.txt shipped with mobiwan.
First of all i tryed the patch ns2.31_fhmip.patch and i got some errors so i canceled my modifications using my versions management tool.
I retried what is written in the file readmeInstall.txt again and i tryed to execute this code that you have posted before:

Please have a look at post #2 : No 'make'. For Ubuntu 11.04 it is, example :
1) Unpack a new ns-allinone-2.33.tar.gz in a new directory.
2) $ cd ns-allinone-2.33/ns-2.33/ && patch -p1 < ns-233-mobiwan-1.patch
3) $ cd ../ && export CC=gcc41 CXX=g++41 && ./install
4) $ cd ns-2.33/ ; $ strip ns ; $ cp ns ns-mobiwan ;
$ sudo cp ns-mobiwan /usr/local/bin/
5) $ cd tcl/mobiwan/ ; $ ns-mobiwan simple-mipv6.tcl ; $ nam out.nam

If you anyway did reconfigure in ns-2.33/ with plain ./configure :
Please redo with : a) $ export CC=gcc41 CXX=g++41 && ./configure
b) $ make clean && make

In step 2) when executing the patch ns-233-mobiwan-1.patch, i had this message:

==============================================================================
can't find file to patch at input line 11
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:

The message asks me to give the file to patch !!!
I am not sure about the success of mobiwan installation and i read in installation file that i can do it manually without the use of a makefile.
can you describe the procedure for me or Can you have a clear tutorial on how to install mobiwan on ns2.35 on ubuntu 13 and how to upgrade it to support MIPv6 i will be very grateful.
Sorry because my first post wasn't so clear.

Sorry, you will have to use the ns2 version that the patch is meant for !

You can have as many versions of ns-allinone-2.xx as you want,
installed at the same time. But do not add any *PATH text to .bashrc.
