I still have bench systems that will use Xp in a limited fashion because I do not want to upgrade hardware to a newer platform but I still need access to the older hardware. Will I worry? Not really, since my Server, LAN and machines are isolated and protected as best as possible.
Is this something I can do, while using a linux client? Disabling the LAN made MintMade unable to access the web, which became apparent as soon as I tried to install the downloaded .iso with my LAN disconnected. The other two entries under LAN are "Virtual ethernet Adapters", created by VMware player. Those still said "connected" but they were of no use apparently! I had to enable the original one, in order to access the web. I can provide more information on the connection that mintmate is using, if that is at all useful.
