Mint Linux Within Virtual PC

I would like to install Mint Linux in a Windows 7 Enterprise Virtual PC session. I have burnt the iso to a CD and when I use it within the VM, I see the Mint splash screen start but then the VM goes into a power down state and stops. This happens about 10 seconds ater the VM starts reading the CD. There are no error messages that I can see.

Is there a tutorial on installing Mint in a VM? I did Google this and saw someone recommend VirtualBox, but I'd prefer to stay with Virtual PC.

Thank you

You probably don't need to burn a physical CD, just tell the VM to read right from the ISO file (I don't know about Virtual PC, but VirtualBox has this option).

I did find that as a suggestion somewhere on the board and tried both options, burning it and using the ISO, neither worked

try to use virtualbox instead.

I successfully installed linux mint 8 using a physical cd. Theres also a big chance that you can install it on a ISO format using VBOX.

FYI:
Host: windows 7 Home Premium

I was really reluctant to install another piece of software on my Win 7 box, but broke down, gave up on VM and went for VBOX. Worked perfectly.
