Questions for you:
1. Which linux distributions are you using on your machine A, B and C?
2. Which service are you using for file sharing?
3. What is the exact error message that you get?
4. Firewall status on all 3 machines.
Apart from above questions please run the following commands on machine A and paste the output in this thread:
1. 2.

Hi. Thanks for replying. 1) On client A I did cmnd: >df -h and I got ...
Filesystem size used avail used% mounted on
/dev/sda1 18G 4,4G 13G 27% /
none 495M 240K 495M 1% /dev
none 501M 128K 501M 1% /dev/shm
none 501M 328K 500M 1% /var/run
none 501M 0 501M 0% /var/lock
Client A I have on it Edubuntu 10.10v.
B I have MINT LINUX 12v.
On C I have Ubuntu 11v(?).
I type on client A: >mount ... I get
/dev/sda1 on / type ext4 (rw,errors=remount-ro,commit=0)
proc on /proc type proc (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev)
none on /sys type sysfs (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev)
fusectl on /sys/fs/fuse/connections type fusectl (rw)
none on /sys/kernel/debug type debugfs (rw)
none on /sys/kernel/security type securityfs (rw)
none on /dev type devtmpfs (rw,mode=0755)
none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,noexec,nosuid,gid=5,mode=0620)
none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,nosuid, nodev)
none on /var/run type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,mode=0755)
none on /var/lock type tmpfs (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev)
nfsd on /proc/fs/nfsd type nfsd (rw)
binfmt misc on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt misc (rw,noexec, nosuid, nodev)
gvfs-fuse-daemon on /home/sandy/.gvfs type fuse.gvfs-fuse-daemon (rw,nosuid,nodev,user=sandy)
2) I'm not using UBUNTU ONE. At terminal I type: >shares-admin and a 'Shared Folders' window pops up. I am using sharing.
3) On Client B I get error message: 'Unable to mount location', 'Failed to mount Windows(?) share'
4) Presently I have no firewall set up on any machine.
I hope this sheds some light on the issue I'm dealing with.
