mint DISPLAY problem

I installed mint 9 fluxbox recently
my first login is ok
When i tried to login with username again it failed but i can login with root
then i switched to virtual terminal and there i can login any account
i found that DISPLAY for all users other than root are empty
so i entered "export DISPLAY=0.0" in .bash.bashrc,/etc/profile
but nothing happened
i can't find xorg.conf in /etc/x11
i am a newbie!
thanks in advance
