This has just started within the past few days. When I browse online my pc will freeze up when online. cannot get it to unlock or whatever. Have to push button on pc to hard dump, or basically turn off pc. I know, this is wrong but its the only thing I can get to work. Have tried pushing "MENU" button to restart, cant do it.
ALSO I have noticed that after this happens and it does restart (REALLY REALLY SLOW) it will NOT HAVE THE LIL ICONS OR ANYTHING ELSE ON BOTTOM OF PAGE....NO MENU, FIREFOX OR MY OTHER ONES EITHER....AFTER TURNING PC ON AND OFF A FEW MORE TIMES THIS RETURNS.....no idea what is going on.
I am one of those folks who if I find something of interest online and I want to return to the site will bookmark the page, I have probably something like 60 or more of them now. IS THIS SLOWING INTERNET DOWN?
throw me a bone folks....what am I doing to goof things up? When installed this was so fast online, and now it will lock up alot....at a loss to understand what is going on...
OH.....I have place my internet browsing on PRIVATE (go to tools and check the app for that) so much google searching is now snooped on by google and the govt that I did not want to share my online searches with anyone,,,should be a private matter...any help appreciated THANKS LINUX COMMUNTIY....YOU FOLKS ARE THE BEST!
My Cinnamon used to freeze because of a bug which makes Cinnamon's file manager Nemo to keep increasing memory usage. You can check if your RAM is getting full.
Having many bookmarks will not slow internet. You r facing 2 problems? -System freeze and slow internet?
Opening many tabs in a web-browser can freeze your system if you don't have enough RAM and swap is turned off or is less. You can check this through a system monitor.
Hi,
I have Linux Mint Cinnamon (Petra), really like it.
But I had it freeze a couple of times today, no mouse no keyboard working, the only option is to force power off. And if I had a sound playing, it will kinda repeat itself, stutter like a vinyl disk.
Is there any way I could get some log file after such a forced power off? I'd like to post it here, maybe someone can tell what went wrong. So please tell me the command or whatever. I googled and tried this particular command below, maybe there's comething else I could do?
Does this tell anything? I can only see something about the usb flash drive, but I don't think the freeze is due to it. What is with the Avahi thing?
Any help greatly appreciated.
