Mint 13 (cinnamon) panel time stuck at 9 pm

I have done a fresh install of Mint 13, the cinnamon version, and one of the first things I did was to change the way the calendar applet displayed the date/time. Since then, I have noticed that the time displayed is _always_ 9:?? PM. Nothing else is shown, the time is always in the 9 pm hour (aka 2100 - 2159).

I have disabled and enabled the network time option which did not have any effect. I have also manually adjusted the time, and interestingly the date/time shown in the adjusting window is correct. However, nothing seems to affect what the time is in the applet.

If I cycle through the minutes by adding one at a time to the date/time adjusting window this takes effect on the panel, but the hours do not do anything until it switches to 9 AM, which is shown on the panel.

NOTE: I did not notice whether this problem was around before changing the display format.

Does anyone know what the package name of this applet is so that I may try reinstalling it?

Thanks, and sorry if this description of is unclear - it is difficult to describe the problem.

Sounds definitely like the formatting of the actual appearance. Do a "man date" or "date --help" for a list of all formatting options. Here is mine, for example:

%a %d %b %Y %T
And here is the output:

Thanks, that seems to correct the wrong time problem. Now the question is how to get a format that displays correctly! I think I will mark this thread as solved and try to figure that out in my own time.

Thanks again
