midia player installation+problems in linux

i am using red hat enterprize linux 5 can any body tell me how to install midia player , vlc player or any player plz give me the installation step

1. Install rpmforge repository if you have not done before.
2. And then:

step 1)
Pay red hat for a license
and for access to the red hat updates and repos

2)
yum install ????
--------- or ---------
1) pay red hat
install the full gcc tools

Code:

 yum groupinstall "Development Tools" " Development Library"

then install ALL the prerequisites and build vlc from source

----- or ----
install cent and and do the above ( except for paying red hat )
