microphone problems

I can't get my mic to work. If I talk to the mic I can hear it, but nothing is coming to teamspeak or during recording. At first the alsa was so messed up that everybody else on teamspeak was hearing the mp3's im listening, but not anything that I was speaking. I got it fixed but I still get no signal from mic. I had this problem once before but with pure luck I got it fixed.

I've tried to change alsa settings for recording etc, but nothing works. I've also tried kmix settings but it doesn't help. Im using mandrake 10.1. There's nothing wrong with the mic or the soundcard (sb live) because they work in windows.

Please help!

you are just having trouble with mixer settings.
learn to use the command line tool "amixer"
and get a better mixer
the best mixer for sblive is qamix
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=69130
it has a template for sblive that will allow you to understand and controll the capture functions
