Simple problem, microphone does not work with skype on ubuntu. Know't solution.

A few details would be nice. Where are you plugging the mike in? Have you tried the sound recorder and the audio controls to see what the settings are?

My computer is a Vostro 1500, I am connecting the microphone in the only plug it brings.

When I try the sound recorder, shows the reception level indicator, however, when playing not heard anything and the volume is full.
