Message 'Lost interrupt' received while copying from /dev/hdc.

Hi:
when coping (cp) from /dev/hdc I have get the message 'Lost interrupt'. Also, when starting K3b, a message notifying I had DMA disable. This I fixed with 'hdparm -d 1 /dev/hdc. But I think something is very wrong with the O.S. Any suggestion?

In case it would be convenient an O.S. full new installation, would I lose my private files, as for example those under /home/some_user?

kernel 2.6.21.5, Slackware 12.0
