LinuxQuestions.org - mepis won't stay on the internet

ok i'll try to explain my problem here. i've tried mepis lovers and all i get is a lot of what ifs and try this and try that. first off i thought this os was supposed to be linuxs' answer to windows xp but i'm finding that far from the truth. before i explain my problem lets keep in mind the title of this forum NEWBIE. i have 4 computers in the house all are connected to a wireless router the 2 where the router is are hard wired to the router it is a linksys cable gateway model wcg200-cc when browsing the internet mepis just stops working and i get a cannot find window . it esspecially happens when i try to sign on to ebay. the only way to reconnect is to unplug the router and plug it back in and go to a few more sites till it happens again. this unplug and plug thing is getting a little old. i like the operating system but if they don't have the router, gateway, internet thing figured out i might as well go back to windows. is there something i can do to fix this without having to get a phd in computer science. any help would be appreciated just be detailed about the instructions. i have no idea of the locations or the names of everything on this system. i've only had it for a week
