Mepis +adsl
Hi there. Just tried the MEPIS Linux boot install miracle and am quite impressed. I tried KNOPPIX before but it just gives up when starting KDE and crashes. MEPIS however works flawlessly.
However. As with all distro's (except for SuSE) I don't get the internet running. I have an ADSL connection. In SuSE I don't have to do anything. I just log in to my ISP's homepage, enter my usrname and password and bingo, I'm up and running.
In MEPIS I found some configuration thingy, clicked on the activate button for eth0 waited for it to be "up", but still no connection.
PPPoe gets often referred to in adsl connection, but I don't think that's the solution for me. In SuSE I don't need any PPPoe either. It just works. Does anybody know the solution?? Thanks in advance, regards, Lennart.
